On Friday, 2nd December 2022, the District Assembly joined other MMDAs in the Western North Region at the Sefwi Asawinso SHS park to mark the 38th Farmers Day celebration.

The event themed; “ Accelerating Agriculture through value addition” saw deserving farmers being awarded for their hard work and contributions toward agricultural development in the region.

The Chairman for the occasion was Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II, ( Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council).

Also in attendance were the Regional Minister, WNR, Hon. Richard Ebbah Obeng, MMDCEs from co-hosting districts, Regional Heads of institutions, Clergy, and the general public.

The District best farmer went to Mr. Yaw Ayisah. The 1st and 2nd Runner’s up went to Mr. Maxwell Oppong and Mr. Ibrahim Yakubu respectively.

The best woman farmer went to Madam Agnes Frimpong.
