The Honorable District Chief Executive of the Sefwi Akontombra District Assembly, Mr. Yawson Amoah on Thursday 25th February, 2021, and Friday, 26th February, 2021 led the SADA-COVID-19 Taskforce to sensitize the general public on COVID-19 protocols as well as to allay fears surrounding the vaccination.
The team was made up of officers from the Police, National Intelligence Bureau, NADMO, NCCE and staff from the District Assembly. The general public were engaged through simulation exercises such as
(i) appropriate handwashing,
(ii) appropriate wearing of facemasks,
(iii) not touching the mouth, eyes and nose,
(iv) use and appropriate disposal of tissue papers during coughing, and
(v) practicing social distancing.
Borne out of the realization in the surge of Ghana’s COVID-19 cases, Mr. Yawson Amoah pleaded with the general public to adhere to the protocols as means to curb the spread of the disease in the District as well as to play their role in creating awareness in their various communities.

He used the opportunity to inspect the water stand facility at the lorry station and the new market shed being constructed for the traders in the market. He also distributed items including facemasks, liquid soaps, tissue papers and sanitizers.
