Mr. Yawson Amoah, the President’s Nominee for the position of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Sefwi Akontombra Assembly in the Western-North Region, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly Members of the area to steer the affairs of the Assembly.
He received 100 percent endorsement from the Assembly Members present. Twenty (20) out of the (21) members of the Assembly voted YES in his favor with one member being absent at the meeting
The event which was held on Monday, 27th of September, 2021 at Church of Pentecost, Akontombra was graced by the Hon. Western-North Regional Minister, Mr. Richard Ebbah Obeng, Traditional leaders, Clergy, Regional Executive of the N.P.P Executives, various Heads of Departments/Units and the General Public.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Yawson Amoah, a teacher by profession, expressed gratitude to the President and the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him to serve the District. He reiterated his commitment to work assiduously and in accordance with the President’s vision of transforming the country to ensure that the Sefwi Akontombra District benefitted immensely from the government’s projects, programs and policies.
Hon. Richard Obeng, the Western–North Regional Minister who addressed the Assembly Members prior to the casting of the confirmation ballots, stated that the Nominee was highly competent for the position and would evenly represent the government at the local level to continue its transformational agenda.
