In accordance with the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936) Section 17 (4) and the Model Standing Orders, the Sefwi Akontombra District Assembly on Monday, 28th March 2022, held its first General Assembly Meeting for the year.

The meeting which doubled as the First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Fourth Assembly was set to elect a new Presiding Member. In attendance were the Hon. Assembly Members, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Yawson Amoah, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Gabriel Adjargo, His Worship

Mr. Lawrence Buer( Sefwi Wiawso Circuit judge), the Assistant District Returning Officer, Mrs. Josephine Ama Yankum, Heads of Departments/ Units and Agencies, and staff of the Assembly.At the end of voting,

Hon. Isaac Entsie, the Assembly Member for Fawokabra-Besibema Electoral Area and former presiding Member was re-elected with a 100% endorsement by Assembly members present. He was subsequently sworn in by the Circuit Judge, Mr. Lawrence Buer. In his acceptance speech, the Hon. Presiding Member expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him to continue leading the Assembly. He called for more collaboration and commitment from members in the discharge of their duties to accelerate development in their various electoral areas and by extension the District. The meeting continued with the presentation, discussion, and approval of the DCEs Sessional Address and Executive Committee Report. The meeting ended at 5:45 pm.
